Keep on Collecting!

Mouse Guard

Mouse Guard is set in a world of sentient mice who live in a medieval era, paralleling the same age in human history, though in their world there are no humans. Its stories revolve around a brotherhood of mice known as the "Mouse Guard" who have sworn an oath to serve their fellow civilian mice in times of need, including making safe passage for them through the wilderness and protecting them from predators. A very nice PVC set of the three lead mice -- blue-caped Lieam, red-caped Saxon and green-caped  Kenzie. Sculpting is spot on and the paint apps are very nice. Each figure stands approximately 3 1/2-inches tall and is sculpted by Rudy Garcia. A very nice addition to my growing Mouse Guard stuff.

Galaxy Warrior Battery operated robot

Sandie and I picked this up for our rambunctious nephew Jacobo. The combination of sound effects ( the cheesy "fire! fire! bratatatatatatat!" is a classic), flashing and spinning lights, jerky walking movement and foam discs firing from the Cylon-like head looks like a winner!

Diecast Goodness plus a micro Racer

I haven't driven a car in eight years (long story for another time) but I still dig these four wheeled beauties. Some of Sandie's treats -- mostly Shelby's and a Corvette. She knows I really like these car designs so she knows what to pick-up for me whenever she goes shopping. I know she has a box of these stashed away for Christmas... I'm just pretending I don't know they exist... yet. The other car is a Q-Steer Nissan Fairlady Z, a remote-controlled micro racer from Takara Tomy. It was given to me by my brother-in-law. Cracking Open More Plastic Crack!

I admit. I'm a plastic junkie... Crackin' them open soon!

ARAH Sci-Fi

A friend gave me this well-preserved Real American Hero Sci-Fi figure. This figure is the second version of the character Sci-Fi released in 1991. Sci-Fi's the G.I. Joe team's directed energy expert -- that's LASER RIFLE TROOPER to you. Here's his filecard at YoJoe.com. Sci-Fi: The code name used by U.S. Army Sergeant Seymour P. Fine. Born in Geraldine, Montana, Sci-Fi was fascinated by electronics and became involved in the Army's most advanced weapons once he enlisted, including laser rifles. He later returned to school to get his masters degree in electronic engineering. His senior thesis -- a sophisticated security system that incorporated the remote targeting sensor from a laser weapon -- was so impressive that it was adopted by NASA. Sci-Fi eventually joined the G.I. Joe team where he used the Army's latest laser rifle. Sci-Fi joined the team shortly after the new Pit III headquarters was established in Utah. He participated in several miss

A Pile of ARAH G.I. Joe's

A fellow collector left a pleasant surprise at my office the other day. He had been fixing up his collection and found a bunch of his old 80's ARAH ( A Real American Hero) G.I. Joes and gave them to me since he had seen some of the ARAH figures I had restored. A big thanks KIKO! Among the pile of parts, weapons and accessories were three complete figures with loose joints and really dinged up paint jobs. These will be the first one's I'll be restoring. First up is Wetsuit (118-HAF-1986-WETSUIT-01), with flashlight, airtank and underater sled. He is missing his rebreather tubes and flippers, of which I know I have some extra paits lying around. His joints are very, very loose and he can't stand up unassisted. Pretty much like me on bad days :( The 1984 Series 3 Firefly (118-HAF-1984-FIREFLY-01) is also mostly ok even though he is missing his thumbs. That was a common problem with the plastic of these figures then. His backpack is complete a
