The figures start appearing in stores this summer and will be broken down into several waves. The first will include Roadblock (Johnson), Duke (Tatum), Cobra Commander, Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, Zartan, Red Ninja, a Cobra Trooper and a Joe Trooper. The rest of the waves weren’t completely revealed, but we did see glimpses of Battle Kata Roadblock and Ninja Duel Snake Eyes from the second, Joe Colton (Willis), Lady Jaye (Adrianne Palicki), a Cyber Ninja, a Dragon Ninja and an Alley Viper from the third. The fourth will include Blind Master (RZA) and Kim Arashikage better known as Jinx (Elodie Yung) figures while the fifth boasts a Night Viper and a member of Cobra’s Red Guard. Copy and pictures taken from spinoff  1) I am so excited to get my paws on these figs. 2) I am NOT excited with the dumbass guns. Sayang sa plastic... The Roadblock and Gen. Colton figs look great!  I wonder how Firefly would turn out. Haaay, I can feel my wallet cringing in fear already...

The Battle of Hoth was a major victory for the Galactic Empire during the Galactic Civil War. The battle was an offensive by the Galactic Empire aimed at destroying the Rebel Alliance's Echo Base hidden on the remote arctic world Hoth. The base's location was compromised when a viper probe droid deployed by Darth Vader landed on Hoth. A major disaster for the Rebel Alliance, the loss of the base put the Rebels on the run once again, struggling to reorganize its battered forces. Information paraphrased from Wookiepedia Han Solo, depicted in Hoth gear, managed to escape in the Millennium Falcon with Princess Leia Organa, after a close encounter with an advance group of snowtroopers. Luke Skywalker piloted a T-47 snowspeeder but was shot down, subsequently escaped and headed for Dagobah to a fateful rendezvous with Yoda.

The cyborg Dengar and Bossk the Trandoshan were notorious bounty hunters active during the Galactic Civil War. The two were  among an elite group of hunters recruited by Darth Vader to capture Han Solo and the passengers of the Millennium Falcon shortly after the Battle of Hoth. I'm not sure who the makers of this line were but feedback from a toy forum suggests that these may be resized recasts of Kenner action figures.

From top: 5D6-RA7 Imperial Espionage Droid 5D6-RA-7, nicknamed Fivedesix by those around him, was an RA-7 protocol droid in service to the Galactic Empire during the Galactic Civil War. Fivedesix was known to be foul-tempered and vindictive for a former service droid, making him feared by other droids. Taken from Wookiepedia 21B Medical Droid 2-1B surgical droids were advanced medical droids popular across the galaxy to those that could afford them. A 2-1B droid could easily become specialist in neurosurgery, podiatry, pediatrics, cybernetic limb replacement, and alien biology with a trip to a certified service center. Taken from Wookiepedia

Dog fights in space! The Star Wars 3D Chess Set features the TIE Fighter and the X-Wing fighter as the game's pawns. Both are mounted on pedestal bases. The both pieces look hefty enough and look good on the board. Up close though, the X-Wing suffers a bit in terms of chunkiness in detail as well as a lackluster paint app. One thing to mention though is that both pedestals are adorned with symbols depicting the two opposing forces -- the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance.  The emblem used for the Imperial forces though looks more like the emblem for the pre-imperial Galactic Republic with thinner bars -- although the number of rays is correct. I got this wonderful Star Wars chess set as a gift last Christmas. Its a huge set, being a bit bigger than my usual wood, traditional chess sets. The box top opens to reveal the figures mounted in a pvc shell with the board and an owner's manual behind. The set is distributed by United Labels Comicware based out in Spain but does not specify which country the components were manufactured in. Funny though that the box art features Republic Clone Troopers rather than the Imperial Stormtroopers. Call me stuck up but it gets me the same way when some people don't differentiate between Republican Roman Legions and Imperial Roman Legions. Ah, Gods of Geekery!
