A useful Star Wars Figure Archive

I just found this neat web page that has reviews and photos of the Star Wars action figures in a variety of useful categories and thematic lists. Foir example, you can search for "Tusken raider" and it'll offer you a list of all the known figure releases, pictures, a review of each fgure, accessory counts, articulation counts, release year, date stamp and more!

There's even a very cool comparison tool so you can look a figures  side by side!

No market prices though, but more than enough info to help you decide which figures to add to your collection. In fact, this is how I'm currently planning my purchase of secondary market figures. Really neat!

Check out  Jedi Business here. Their beginners page is here.

BBI Elite Force M1 Abrams

Just a quickie today, still got a ton of work to finish. It's a BBI Elite Force 1:18 M1 Abrams MBT! A coworker decided to streamline his collection and sold me this tank and two humvees. More pics soon when I get a chance to pose them with my G.I. Joes.

The Nightmare Before Christmas: Doctor Finkelstein

Doctor Finkelstein is a resident of Halloween Town. He is the mad scientist and the "father" of Sally. He is described as a pale-as-a-sheet mad scientist with a duckbill-like mouth and a hinged skullcap that he can open up to reveal his brain. Doctor Finklestein lives in a large observatory with his living rag doll creation Sally and his hunchbacked assistant Igor. James Whale's Frankenstein is quoted in Finklestein's line "I made you with my own hands" which is ironic as Finklestein's body appears to be largely if not entirely artificial. Unlike Frankenstein who takes no responsibility for his creations and disowns them almost as soon as they are completed (much like the original Dr. Frankenstein), Finklestein takes full responsibility over Sally and acts as an over-protective father and in some ways an overbearing husband (thus explaining Sally's attempts to run away) by keeping her under lock and key under the pretext of shelterin...

Star Wars 3D Chess Set

I got this wonderful Star Wars chess set as a gift last Christmas. Its a huge set, being a bit bigger than my usual wood, traditional chess sets. The box top opens to reveal the figures mounted in a pvc shell with the board and an owner's manual behind. The set is distributed by United Labels Comicware based out in Spain but does not specify which country the components were manufactured in. Funny though that the box art features Republic Clone Troopers rather than the Imperial Stormtroopers. Call me stuck up but it gets me the same way when some people don't differentiate between Republican Roman Legions and Imperial Roman Legions. Ah, Gods of Geekery! Anyway, the set features the Galactic Empire versus the Rebel Alliance with The heroes and villains acting as the playing pieces.  Unboxing the content, you'll find the following game contents: Black (Galactic Empire) Emperor Palpatine (King) Darth Vader (Queen) Imperial Stormtrooper (Bishop) Imperial Ro...
