This is my favorite Elseworlds Batman. The book actually started the concept of transplanting the mythology of Batman in different times and places. In Gotham by Gaslight: A Tale of the Batman, Bruce wayne begins his clandestine activities as the Bamtan in Gotham circa 1889. A series of murders similar to those committed by Jack The Ripper coincides with Batman's appearance and Bruce Wayne finds himself framed as the killer. The book is written by Brian Augustyn and illustrated by Mike Mignola with inks by P. Craig Russell.
GN Comics ranked Gotham by Gaslight #13 on a list of the 25 greatest Batman graphic novels, saying that the comic is "as taut and well-conceived a graphic novel as you can find -- Elseworlds or otherwise."

In my opinion, the sculpt is also one of the most faithful interpretations of the illustrated work. Check out the art inside the book:
